Am I Industry-Ready?

Render several distinct materials on it

You can invent an object and render at least three distinct, believable materials on it clearly, under one light, without reference.

What it is

This capstone combines earlier rendering skills — form, value, light, and color — so metal, fabric, skin, plastic, glass, wood, or stone all feel distinct on the same invented object.

It relies on material thinking: you decide how shiny, rough, soft, translucent, or dense each part is, then control edges, highlights, reflections, and texture to show it without guesswork.

It also leans on consistency: every material shares the same invented light, perspective, and palette, so the piece reads as one object, not a collage of separate studies.
