Production-quality finish
A finished keyframe with resolved forms, lighting, materials, design consistency, and a clean, organized file.
What it is
You develop a chosen keyframe from a tight drawing or 3D paintover into a cohesive final image. Forms, lighting, materials, edges, and details are resolved without unfinished placeholders or block-ins.
Characters remain on-model, while perspective, scale, props, and environment details stay consistent. Detail supports the image at screen and thumbnail sizes, with controlled brushwork and restrained texture.
The file includes organized layers, clean masks, adjustable effects, and a final pass for color harmony, value balance, and edge cleanup. The image is prepared for use in a pitch, art book, or other presentation.
Why it matters
A production-quality finish helps the keyframe communicate its story moment, mood, and design. Weak control can leave rough areas, inconsistent materials, or unresolved edges that distract from the image and make the file harder for other artists to use.
You can check it when
- ✓At thumbnail size, the main action, lighting, and focal point remain readable, with distinct value shapes.
- ✓At 100% view, you find no stray sketch lines, fuzzy selections, muddy overpainting, stretched photo textures, or unintegrated images.
- ✓Characters, props, and architecture remain on-model and consistent with earlier designs or references, including when rendered or shown from new angles.
- ✓Another artist can navigate and adjust the layered file using logical names, grouped elements, editable effects, and no crucial work hidden in flattened, unlabeled sections.
