Present vehicle designs through aligned views, labeled parts, readable variants, and callouts that support modeling or fabrication.

What it is

A vehicle presentation sheet organizes drawings so another person can understand the design without guessing. It typically includes a three-quarter hero view, supporting orthographic views, and callouts for parts and functions.

The three-quarter view shows the vehicle’s pose, attitude, and overall character. Keep it consistent with the orthographic views. Use value grouping, line weight, and limited color when needed to separate major parts, windows, and key design features.

Orthographic views show proportions, wheelbase, heights, widths, and mechanical relationships from straight, aligned angles. Match details across views, including panel lines, hinges, exhausts, hardpoints, and weapon mounts. Show variants with a consistent core structure and label the changed equipment or purpose. Use callouts, small zoom-ins, arrows, cutaways, or ghosted lines to explain mechanisms, materials, and features that are not visible from the exterior.

Why it matters

This presentation supports accurate use of the design by showing how views, proportions, mechanisms, variants, and major features relate. Weak presentation can lead to mismatched proportions, misplaced parts, unclear mechanisms, or variants that do not read as one vehicle family.

You can check it when

• ✓You can produce a sheet where a three-quarter view and at least 2 orthographic views match in proportions, panel lines, and major features.
• ✓The layout identifies the main version, variants, and their differences without verbal explanation.
• ✓Your callouts identify how doors open, how parts move, where key equipment sits, or what materials and surface treatments are used.
• ✓You can review the sheet later and identify each part, angle, variant, and mechanism without adding sketches.
