Design an environment belonging to the same world
You can invent an environment that clearly belongs to the same world as your characters and props, unified and believable as a whole.
What it is
This capstone combines environment drawing from imagination, perspective, scale, and layout with design skills — architecture, terrain, and set dressing that match your character and prop designs.
It also draws on consistency skills: repeating shapes, motifs, materials, and technology level so buildings, interiors, and landscapes read as the same culture as your characters and their gear.
You also apply composition, value structure, color and lighting, and atmospheric effects so the environment is a clear, readable place that supports the story moment, not just a backdrop.
You can check it when
- ✓You can design a new environment for an existing character or prop set, and it reads as the same world without explanation.
- ✓Your environments repeat the same design language (shapes, motifs, materials, tech level) across multiple images while allowing variety in specific locations.
