Am I Industry-Ready?

Integrating style with fundamentals

Choose a visual language for the brief while keeping anatomy, light, perspective, and form consistent.

What it is

Decide how realistic or stylized the image will be, then apply fundamental structure within that choice. You may push proportions, simplify shapes, or flatten space while still considering volume, perspective, and light.

Design the style for the brief and maintain it across the image. Graphic shapes, limited shading, or loose painting still need readable poses, coherent space, clear light direction, face planes, edge hierarchy, and grouped values.

Read the brief, set the limits of the style, and bend fundamentals without breaking them. Large eyes and a small body can still support a balanced pose. Stylized color can still use warm and cool relationships and value contrast to guide attention.

Why it matters

This skill helps you adapt your visual language to different briefs while keeping the image readable and structurally sound. Weak control can produce generic realism that misses the brief, or stylization that breaks anatomy, lighting, perspective, or consistency across a series.
